Starting from last year, The Pokemon Company International committed themselves to releasing as much Pokemon music as possible via the iTunes store for fans to enjoy. To kick of 2014, the company have released the digital remastered soundtrack featured in Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver, the Nintendo DS remake of what I personally consider to be the highlight of the franchise when it was first released on the GameBoy.
The game, which released in 2010, featured in-game music composed by Junichi Masuda, Gō Ichinose, and Morikazu Aoki, and included remixes of the iconic 8-bit themes featured across both games.
This release follows similar soundtrack releases for Pokemon X/Y and Pokemon FireRed / LeafGreen. Further soundtrack releases for Ruby / Sapphire, Diamond / Pearl, Black / White and Black 2 / White 2 are also planned for later this year.
The question remains however if the Ruby and Sapphire soundtracks will be based on the original Gameboy Advance release or what fans are hoping to be a remake of the original game for the Nintendo 3DS.
