While there is no word on any airings outside of North America, The Pokemon Company International have brought news on the next Pokemon movie. With the days of theatrical releases well and truly behind us (I remember seeing the first three in cinemas multiple times even over here in Australia), to mark the release of Pokemon X and Y editions on the 12th October 2013, Cartoon Network will be hosting a special Pokemon animation event on the 19th October 2013. During this event, fans in the US will be able to catch the premiere of Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakend – starring the powerful Red Genesect and Mega Mewtwo.

Five Genesect have invaded the big city and threaten its power supply, attracting the attention of the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, whose motives are unknown. Ash, Pikachu, and friends must come to the rescue when the Genesect’s powerful leader, Red Genesect, confronts Mewtwo! The movie features the Mega-Evolved form of Mewtwo, Mega Mewtwo, which appears for the first time in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Fans can also battle with Red Genesect when the Pokémon Trading Card Game: Red Genesect Collection arrives at retail stores nationwide on September 25th.

While oddly enough they haven’t provided timings for the event, they have provided a schedule of what will be airing during this session:

  • Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice
  • Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened
  • Two-episode sneak peek of Pokémon the Series: XY (Yep, that TV series keeps on going)
