Rune Factory 4 – A ‘How To” of Battle Instructional Video

-

While one would generally equate the Rune Factory series with Natsume, given XSEED Games recently merged with Marvelous USA it seems like they will be serving as the new publisher for the series starting with Rune Factory 4.

Earlier today the team at XSEED released their second installment in a series of ‘how to videos’ for the upcoming RPG simulation title in order to help familiarize players with the in-game mechanics ahead of the title’s Nintendo 3DS exclusive release later this year. This time around – they have looked at the game’s combat system.

While players will need to fastidiously tend to their crops, as seen in the earlier farming tutorial video they will also have the option to explore the world around the village of Selphia and engage in combat. A wide variety of both weapons and Rune abilities (like magic) are available to characters, and experience is gained as weapons are used, unlocking powerful new abilities. Weapons can also be combined with Rune abilities to increase their damage, providing for a huge variety of powerful attacks.

While for completely different platforms, I did back in 2012 write up a review of Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny on the Playstation 3 that you can read HERE.

  1. Been waiting for this game for a long time. Despite their problems, I loved Tides of Destiny, and Frontier before it. Thanks a lot XSeed & Atlus. Shin Megaten just came out, and then we got Etrian Odyssey Untold & Rune Factory 4 coming up… is there anything else I’m going to have to buy for 3DS in the next few months? Man. I need to start drumming up some cash….

I would appreciate it if they stopped arbitrarily limiting what you could do every day though. It sucked having to quit dungeon crawling or farming after a short while because your stupid character was too tired. But still, there’s far more good in this franchise than not. I’m looking forward to this next one.
