It was confirmed a few months back that Ghostlight and Laughing Jackal have been hard at work in bringing a PC port of Agarest: Generations of War to the PC. While this installment is seemingly based on the enhanced Xbox360 version that was published by Aksys Games in 2010 – Ghostlight were the original company to publish the game all the way back in 2009 on the Playstation 3 within PAL regions.

In the latest announcement made by the company, it has been confirmed that in addition to the huge amount of bug squashing and movie conversions that has taken place, they have finally converted all Xbox control icons with mouse/keyboard controls as well as including a number of visual tweaks to the mix to hopefully appear brighter and better than ever.

In addition they have confirmed that they are still working on the different bonus’ to be made available for the game. While what they have in store remains a mystery, what we do know is that they will be offering a closed beta of the game on the PC to a limited number of willing Steam participants. As of yet we have no idea just when this beta will be hold or how one would go about applying to take part, but in a brief Facebook update they have confirmed that they have a version of Agarest: Generations of War that is looking really good and aside from a few graphical changes and some additional items to the menu the beta shouldn’t be too far off.

Agarest: Generations of War was initially developed by Japanese developers Compile Heart who you may know for their other franchises such as Mugen Souls and Hyperdimension Neptunia. The development of this PC port however is being handled by the team at Laughing Jackal to be published by Ghostlight at a later date.

Also, while this news isn’t exactly new, but since I last posted on the games Steam Greenlight campaign it turns out that they have been successful in building up public support and is one step closer to being made available through the Steam service at launch.
