While there may now be several “Keiji Inafune’s” running around Japan with Compile Heart having the New Keiji Inafune and Keiji “Shooting Star” Inafune working on Mugen Souls 1 and 2 respectively, it is time for some news on what the real Inafune has been up to. His latest video game release developed by his Comcept studio (and Marvelous AQL) have today announced that Soul Sacrifice is now available on the Playstation Vita in Australia.

Published in the region by Sony Computer Entertainment, take on the role of a slave who stumbles upon a forbidden book that allows its readers to relive epic battles between sorcerers and monsters of the past.  In order to use the magic during fierce battles, the character must be willing to make a sacrifice in exchange – personal belongings, a limb, or even a life!

Some of the promoted features of this game include:

  • All-Star development team – The legendary Keiji Inafune of Comcept led the Soul Sacrifice team, alongside Marvelous AQL, with Yasunori Mitsuda and Wataru Hokoyama working on the music soundtrack.
  • Fantasy blended with reality – Learn the true meaning of cruelty and cost as Soul Sacrifice will introduce a fantasy experience blended with reality where the player will make unimaginable sacrifices in pursuit of great power.
  • Freeform character customisation – Choose and equip your offerings wisely as each spell has a dark, violent cost in exchange for its power.  Players must also carefully choose between “Sacrificing” or “Saving” a monster’s soul, as your character’s abilities and visual form will change based on your decision.
  • The first co-op action RPG experience on PS Vita – Become fully immersed within an integrated world of dark fantasy made possible by the power of PS Vita.

Don’t forget that if you have downloaded the demo of the game, then you can carry over that saved data to the full game, which nets you the ability to skip over previously completed content but also provides with with an exclusive bonus item – “Spirits’ Heart”, a powerful stone golem that will fight for you.
