Yet another major performing arts centre is closing its doors over the weekend in light of recent coronavirus (COVID-19) information. In a last-minute announcement made via their social media channels, the venue confirmed that all performances from 13 March – 15 March across all four of their venues are no longer going ahead.

UPDATE: Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Cancels All Performances March 13-15 2

It is with great regret that QPAC must advise that all performances have been cancelled from today 13 March until and including Sunday 15 March.

All affected audience members will be contacted for full refunds in the coming days.

QPAC is working actively to review the forward program of events at the Centre in light of unfolding advice. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.

We sincerely apologise for this late notice and ask for your understanding.

QUEENSLAND PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE (QPAC)

This weekend was due to see the final performances of Noni Hazlehurst AM’s Mother in the Cremorne Theatre, Queensland Ballet and Shanghai Ballet’s The Lady of Camellias, Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s The Ballet Beautiful and Queensland Youth Symphony’s Symphonic Dances. Representatives from QTIX (The ticketing branch of QPAC) will be in contact with patrons over the coming days regarding refunds. Some performances may not be rescheduled, but others such as The Lady of the Camellias are having alternate schedules considered in 2020 or 2021.

If the discontinuation of performances runs past this weekend, it may result in the next major musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, due to begin on 18 March being postponed as well.
