New Opportunities to Visit Boogie Wonderland – QPAC Open New Sessions to Velvet

-

Providing a new opportunity for Queensland theatre-goers to purchase tickets for a trip to Boogie Wonderland, it has been announced that a second week of Velvet shows has gone on sale in Brisbane. Shows will begin at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s Cremorne Theatre from April 20 2016, and are currently set to run until at least May 1st.

Director Craig Hott seeks to take guests into a hedonistic world, which pits dazzling acrobatics against disco divas in a sexy, spectacular, sparkling and slightly sadomasochistic show. Taking the stage will be singer/songwriter Brendan Maclean who heads the cast, and will be joined by an ensemble of talent including muscle man Stephen Williams, hula boy extraordinaire Craig Reid, acrobatic wunderkind Mirko Köckenberger, sizzling aerialist Emma Goh, the sassy sirens Chaska Halliday and Rechelle Mansour, musical director and mix master Joe Accaria and the diva Marcia Hines.

Sound like something you would like to see? Tickets to see Velvet are priced at $49 to $79, with price dependent on preview status, session preference and seating choice (A-Reserve or B-Reserve). You can order these through the QPAC Website or by calling their box office.

About Velvet

When a young ingénue, Brendan Maclean, slips behind the red velvet rope at the glamorous nightclub that is VELVET, he encounters dazzling acrobatics, disco divas, seductive chanteuses and a hot, pulsating atmosphere. It changes him and empowers him! The performance follows his seduction and his transformation.

VELVET shocks, surprises and scintillates at every turn. It’s a party, it’s dangerous, it’s electrifying, and the exhilarating disco soundtrack never lets up from the opening moment. Each performance invites the audience into an intoxicating glitter ball world where the performers and the audience walk the fine line between the romantic and the audacious.
