A Celebration of Irish Dance and Song to Take Place Next Month, With Ireland The Show

-

Irish dancers are headed to the Gold Coast and Brisbane next month, with all the colours, characters and high-kicks some have come to expect when Irish song and dance appear on-stage. Clearly titled Ireland The Show, this is a new Celtic production which seeks to celebrate the very best of Irish heritage and culture, showcased by a cast of champion Irish dancers, musicians and singers during two one-night-only spectacles. The show will kick off at Jupiters Hotel & Casino Gold Coast on Sunday March 13, and will be followed by a performance at QPAC on Wednesday March 16.

This show has been produced by the Brisbane born Ethan Walker, who currently has stage productions being performed across the world. Despite being from Brisbane, this will be the first time this production has been performed in front of his hometown audiences. Having now moved to Las Vegas, Walker has built up quite a name for himself. This includes taking part in world tours with Michael Flatley’s Irish dance show, Lord of the Dance.

Here is a bit about the show, as sourced from a recent media release:

The show kicks off (literally) with a whirlwind of energy, as the musicians create lively, inspiring tunes, pushing the dancers to new levels of artistic expression, and transporting old traditions from the Irish fireside to the international stage. It’s the music that makes your skin tingle, and the dances that makes you want to join in.  The expressive language of dance ranges from a gliding shimmer of subtle soft shoe choreography, to pounding dramatic hard shoe steps. The execution of seemingly effortless high kicks is married perfectly with modern polish, Irish charm and dazzling Vegas-style Celtic costumes.

Sound interesting? Tickets are still available for shows on the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
