Last Chance for Gold Coast Artists to Contribute Designs for Cultural Precinct Construction Fencing

Regular readers of this site may recall a few weeks ago that I made a post titled “The Arts Centre Gold Coast Are Looking for Local Artists to Enhance Cultural Precinct Construction Zone“. With the Gold Coast set to receive a new and improved Cultural Precinct in the coming years,  and with Stage 1 planned for completion in time for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, construction work on the site at Evandale is soon set to commence.

Although construction will be taking place, it will still be business as usual at both The Arts Centre Gold Coast and the Gold Coast Gallery. With the site still open, albeit looking more and more like a construction zone as time passes, the venues have opened an opportunity for local artists to make the construction fences a lot more sightly. This resulted in a citywide invitation being issued to artist, as the venue seeks an inspiring and engaging design that will be on display across hundreds of meters of construction fencing around the site for approximately 18 months.

This is just a quick reminder to let artists know that entries close on Friday 23rd October 2015. If you are a local artist and think you have the skills (and now, time) to take part in this opportunity, you can find an information guide and more specifics on how to submit via the official The Arts Centre Gold Coast website.

The winner will be announced on October 23rd 2015, and receive $2,000 in prize money.
