Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo – Relaxing After a Christmas Feast 1

Although arguably not thriving nearly as much as its heyday last decade when major corporations and institutions clamoured to have their own presence in it, Second Life from Linden Labs is still a thing, with new technology being added to the clients which make things much more visually appealing and malleable – such as Project Bento and Animesh. Even though Second Life may have a reputation for more adult content, those interested in using it to build custom avatars and take great photographs will find a lot on offer from the user created worlds, purchasable content for your avatars, a high level of customisation and a couple of clients dedicated to taking fantastic photos. That said…. it isn’t exactly a cheap virtual world if you want to look great…

Visiting a friends house post-Christmas for the first time in ages, I could not help but take this nice photo to kick things off. While I do not drink IRL, the idea of a whole bunch of friends getting together for a late-night wine has always been quite appealing.

Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo is an off-shoot of the upcoming Take That (In-Game) Snap article series, which looks at, celebrates and critiques how video game developers have implemented professional photography-like systems into their games, how the systems handle, just how accessible they are and, where applicable, how a modding community might be making these tools even better. With this Daily Photo spin-off series, I will be sharing individual photos from the games either covered or soon-to-be-covered in the series.
