Seven Seas Entertainment has announced that its Siren imprint will launch the first English language audiobook adaptation of My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s on September 18, 2025. Written by Matsuri Akai with illustrations by Tozai, the audiobook will be narrated by Knox Riley.
The story follows Oda Akira, a forgettable classmate who unexpectedly benefits from his low profile when he and his peers are transported to a fantasy world. While others struggle to adapt, Akira embraces his new role as an assassin, quickly realizing that his suspiciously high stats and unusual circumstances hint at something darker behind the summoning.
His investigation uncovers dangerous royal secrets and earns him the enmity of the very king who brought him to this world. Alongside the elven spirit medium Amelia, Akira begins a quest for survival, justice, and revenge.
