Lost Skies Reaches Version 1.0 on Steam This Week

Open world co-op airship survival game Lost Skies exits Early Access and launches into version 1.0 on Steam this coming Wednesday, accompanied by a 25 percent launch discount. Developer Bossa Games also confirmed plans to bring the game to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 at a later date.

At launch, players can expect a larger world that expands from a single Early Access region to four. The original Outskirts has been split into three zones, with a new fourth region called the Midlands. Each area features significantly more content, with roughly 30 islands to discover and new weather barriers such as windwalls and stormwalls separating regions.

Day one content also supports community-built islands created with the free Island Creator tool on Steam Workshop, which can be explored solo or with up to five friends. A new boss type called the Arbiter is designed to create more frequent sky battles, while each region will feature its own unique Herald encounter. Hostile wildlife expands with additions like Thornets and Harpies.

Progression and crafting see updates through new ship parts that include sail controls, additional engines and decorative items, as well as fresh resources and materials that unlock further recipes. To align with revised balance and stability, all Early Access players will have their progress fully reset for the 1.0 launch.

Alongside the solo option, developer Bossa Games has committed to supporting multiplayer for the next few years, with ambitions to expand it further as the player base grows.

Studio head Anthony Kyne thanked the community for its role throughout development and set expectations for ongoing growth:

First off, it’s been an amazing experience building this game with this community from basically the beginning. It’s been an absolute joy seeing videos and comments from you all when we release builds with new features. I want to thank everyone that’s played the builds, given your opinions (good or bad), designed and built islands, made videos, and anything that has helped make this game possible.

We’re a small team here at Bossa and we’ve made a game we’re extremely proud of – that wouldn’t have been half as good without you. Lastly, a game like Lost Skies can never truly be classed as finished. The world has endless possibilities for growth. The bigger the success of 1.0 over the coming months, the greater ability to grow that world.
