HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Wabisabi Games and Acclaim revealed the Switch 2 version in a trailer at Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, with the game set to arrive on the console in early 2027.
The game draws on SSX and other Y2K-era extreme sports titles, as well as Jet Grind Radio. Players race down exaggerated courses based on real-world locations, pulling off tricks, chaining combos and catching big air against a cast of riders that includes a snowboarding taco and a giant kaiju. On Switch 2, players can play it docked on a TV or in handheld mode.
Anwar Noriega, CEO and Co-founder of Wabisabi Games, said being part of the Indie World Showcase meant a lot to the team.
Having Hyperyuki Snowboard Syndicate featured in the Nintendo Indie World Showcase is a dream come true for our team. Growing up, the ‘Nintendo Seal of Quality’ meant a game was special, polished, and worth your time. To us, being included in an Indie World Showcase feels like the modern-day equivalent of that iconic badge. We can’t wait for players to get their hands on it!
HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate was first shown at last years Play Acclaim Showcase and is being developed by Mexican indie studio Wabisabi Games (makers of RKGK/Rakugaki).
Several modes are planned. Challenge mode asks players to complete objectives such as riding rails, collecting trinkets and landing tricks to post the highest score and climb the leaderboard. Race mode pits players against NPCs or other players, with tricks filling a boost meter, so players need to balance style and speed. Chill is an endless mode for exploring the tracks at a relaxed pace, with a chance to uncover a few secrets along the way. Multiplayer covers both online play with up to seven friends and local split-screen.
