Especially living here in Australia where there isn’t really much in terms of a local manga market, picking up volumes generally involves the few Madman Entertainment release each month or buying imported copies which can come with additional costs. While ultimately this will not cover a great portion of the English-localized manga on the market, Yen Press in collaboration with their partners at Square Enix (Japan) have confirmed an ambitious project that will see at least 175 Square Enix titles distributed worldwide through digital distribution channels.

Their catalogue of manga titles will begin rolling out on the 8th April 2014 with titles such as Atsushi Ohkubo’s Soul Eater, Yana Toboso’s Black Butler, and Yoshiki Tonogai’s Doubt on April 8. Other series such as Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist, Jun Mochizuki’s PandoraHearts, Ryukishi07′s Higurashi: When They Cry, and Hiroshi Takashige / Double-S’s Until Death Do Us Part will also be rolled out in the first few waves.

For more specifics, check out the official Yen Press announcement HERE. At this point in time the project only seems to cover Square Enix titles, but here’s hoping their other fantastic titles including Bunny Drop and With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child make an appearance over the next couple of months.
