HOTA: Home of the Arts to Start Opening Its Doors Back Up on Saturday

To commence with 12 cinema screenings a day

Even though it is likely still months until things will be business-as-normal for performing arts venues across the country, some organisations are finding ways to safely open to small numbers of guests at any one time. Following promising news that Arts Centre Melbourne would be opening up on a limited scale from 27 June yesterday, HOTA: Home of the Arts on the Gold Coast have confirmed activities will commence on a small-scale from this weekend.

On Saturday 6 June 2020, the HOTA Cinemas will be opening up for daily shows. Details such as which films will be screened and times have yet to be confirmed, we do know there shall be a maximum of twelve screenings a day, with a capacity of 20 patrons at each. As they have put it, this could “be your chance to have an almost private screening”.

Here’s hoping that they have their popcorn machine ready for Saturday, if there is one snack I couldn’t recommend highly enough at HOTA, it is their popcorn! To read more about the venue reopening, you can read their official FAQs HERE. As session times are announced, they will be posted HERE.
