Olympic Champion Lydia Lassila to Attend Special Gold Coast Screening of The Will to Fly

The Will to Fly is a feature film based on the story of Olympic Champion Lydia Lassila, who as a young mum and against all odds, competed in one of the most dangerous sports in the world. She dared to reach for an almost impossible dream, and in doing so, helped pave the way for women in sports. It covers her journey to becoming the first woman to perform the most complex acrobatic manoeuvre that only men had completed before and the obstacles, achievements and successes she encountered along the way.

The Will to Fly began screening in Australia several months ago, however The Arts Centre Gold Coast in Bundall is hosting what could be considered an encore screening on Saturday 18 June at 4.00pm in the Arts Cinema. However what makes this screening special is that they will be holding a post-show Q&A with Lydia Lassila.

Tickets to attend this special screening are $27.00 for adults, with reduced prices for concession card holders / members ($24.00) and children ($20.00). Tickets can be booked either online or by contacting The Arts Centre Gold Coast box office on (07) 5588 4000.

With The Arts Centre Gold Coast holding a performance of the Mary Poppins musical at 7.30pm, you may want to make an afternoon and evening out of this event.
