The second season of the anime My Happy Marriage has been confirmed to begin airing in January 2025, with plans to air the series internationally via Netflix and other streaming platforms. Alongside the announcement, an initial key visual (to the left) and trailer (below) will be released, giving fans their first glimpse of the upcoming season. The new season will once again be produced by Kinema Citrus. My Happy Marriage Season 2 will also see Takehiro Kubota return as Director, feature series composition by Ami Sato, colour design by Anna Okamatsu, art direction by Emi Katanosaka, photography direction by Tsunetaka Ema and music by Evan Call.
The story of My Happy Marriage follows Miyo Saimori (voiced by Reina Ueda), a young woman who grew up oppressed in a prestigious family, and Kiyoka Kudo (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa), an aloof military elite. They are brought together by a political marriage, and as new characters emerge, the couple faces new challenges in the second season. The My Happy Marriage series is based on the novel written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, which began in 2019. The novel has been complemented by a range of releases on other formats, including the anime adaptation, a manga adaptation illustrated by Rito Kosaka, a live-action adaptation and even a stage adaptation.
The second season will continue to explore Miyo’s journey as she grapples with her self-confidence and the “blood of the Usuba” that flows through her. The season will delve into whether Miyo and Kiyoka can protect their newfound happiness as new threats arise.
Introducting New Characters
Tadakiyo Kudo (Voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu)
The previous head of the Kudo family, Kiyoka’s father. He has a gentle personality and looks forward to Miyo and Kiyoka’s marriage.

I just want them to be happy. That’s really all I want, yup yup♪
As for my character’s partner, she is QUITE a strong-willed person. However, she has her reasons, and I want to cherish Tadakiyo’s broad-mindedness in being able to fully accept them.
Fuyu Kudo (Voiced by Kikuko Inoue)
Kiyoka’s mother. A lady with cold eyes and a haughty manner that makes those around her tremble.
I am tremendously happy to be able to appear in “My Happy Marriage”! In contrast to the happiness I felt, the character I play, Fuyu, tends to be cold and say harsh words, so I had to harden my heart during the recordings. Thanks to her kind husband, she lives a life of comfort, but… I feel she harbours a sadness, a certain sorrow deep in her heart. I hope to express to the best of my ability the terrifying love of a mother who wants her beloved Kiyoka to be happy! Thank you very much for your support.
