In response to a recent post on their official Facebook page, Australian anime publisher Madman Entertainment confirmed that they do have plans to release the “new adaptation” in regards to anime adaptations very soon. Although I don’t believe they have made an official announcement regarding Rozen Maiden Zurückspulen, it seems like it will be available via home video release and/or the AnimeLab video on demand service soon. This could possibly be related to the teased AnimeLab announcement from earlier today.
This comment was made in response to a question regarding the availability of the original Rozen Maiden anime collections which were made available several years ago. While Traumend and Ouverture are still available for purchase via their official website, the first season is listed as being “Out of Stock”. Madman have confirmed that they will not be bringing it back into print “for the time being”, meaning that those eager to dive into the original anime season may be forced to hunt around retailers looking for an unsold copy.
Don’t think that you need to watch the first anime season however to fully understand Rozen Maiden Zurückspulen. While you can gain a lot of insight on the general premise from watching the first anime season, Zurückspulen follows the second season manga plot rather than the anime chronology which deviate considerably – with the first eight volumes recapped in the first episode.
