While this announcement was pretty much obvious given their past commitment to the series, Aniplex of America have today confirmed that they will be holding a worldwide simulcast of Sword Art Online II when it begins airing in July 2014 within Japan. Aniplex has also confirmed plans of hosting Sword Art Online II Premiere Screening Events to be held in the U.S., France, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. with more details to be made available at a later date.
Following the first TV season which focused on the Aincrad and Fairy Dance chapters, Sword Art Online II will be following the Phantom Bullet arc which takes place in a new VRMMOFPS known as Gun Gale Online, which as the title explains has a greater emphasis on guns and ranged weapons rather than swords or magic.
