Madman Entertainment’s big Wednesday announcement has been announced as an opportunity for the public to let them know what their favourite anime releases of all time are… well at least out of Madman Entertainment anime releases. Unfortunately they have not included most of their discontinued series (Some of which I would have personally voted for) but there are still a high number of titles you can select from.
The benefit of taking part? They will be giving away heaps of spot prizes for their favourite coments along with on the 20th and final day of the countdown they will give away all 20 titles to one person. All you have to do to enter is visit the events website HERE and vote for as many titles as you like – but don’t forget to comment, discuss and argue your case.
Polling closes on the 5th April 2012 and afterwards there will be the 20 day countdown with a single title revealed each day. For more specifics on this event, visit the website mentioned above or I have included a copy of the basic stuff below:
How will Madman tally the votes?
The Facebook comments system gives everyone absolute transparency, however we want people to be able to discuss the titles as well.
So a comment doesn’t automatically equal a vote – you’ll need to specifically say I vote for X and here is why!
Because we are aware that Top 20 is a subjective thing, we’ve created a formula that takes into account the number of votes and the amount of passionate discussion around the title to generate the final winners (as well as some fancy algorithms) – so it’s not just about voting but about passion.
Can I vote on more than one title?
Well all right, if you really must. Seriously though, we understand it can be tough to narrow it down. Just make sure you argue the case for your title, as it’s not just about how many “votes” a title gets but also how passionate you guys are about it that will decide.
Hey! My favourite Anime title isn’t on the list, what the deuce is going on?
We couldn’t possibly list every Anime ever released, so we generated this list based on historical sales data from our system. We realise there will be titles missing, so we have included a wildcard title you can vote for. Feel free to leave a comment here and let us know why you think Samurai Pizza Cats or Technoman is the best title ever, that way everyone can see!
Hey how come you don’t list episode 8 of Naruto here?
The listings here are by property; if we listed every episode of a series our poor web designers would probably have a conniption*.
So, in the case of Naruto, this covers the property of Naruto as a whole – the original series, Shippuden, cut or uncut etc. This is why we have the comments system; it will allow you to get specific. Make sense?
