Toys for Bob has announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond, a new entry in the Spyro series scheduled for release in Spring 2027. The studio is known for its earlier work on the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and will mark the character’s first fully original adventure in almost 20 years – with recent decades seeing the dragon fade into the background in the Skylanders franchise.
According to the studio, the game features a new world along with expanded exploration and gameplay additions intended to build on the classic formula rather than simply repeat it. The release is positioned as an entry point for newcomers as well as a fresh experience for established fans.
One of the headline additions is proper dragon flight. The studio is keen to distinguish this from the gliding and the limited flight stages associated with past titles, describing it instead as proper, unrestricted flight.
Voice actor Tom Kenny will also reprise his role as Spyro for the project.
