During the Xbox Showcase, id Software revealed DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations, a campaign DLC continuing the story of the DOOM Slayer. It is set to release on 8 July 2026 (AEST) for all supported platforms of the base game.
The DLC picks up with the Slayer wounded and betrayed, placed into a purgatory he can only leave by facing difficult truths and gaining new strength, aided by an unnamed ally introduced in the story.
On the gameplay front, Revelations adds a new weapon, the Chain Spear, which the studio describes as a combat system that grants greater power and mobility as players become more skilled with it. The DLC also brings new levels with more involved puzzles, additional demons, and further mysteries to work through.
Accompanying the release is the Ripatorium 3.0 update, which is free to all existing players. It introduces additional customisation options, improved pass code generation, and the ability to save and load personal presets. Owners of the Premium Edition or Collectors Bundle gain access to three new maps, new demons, and fully upgraded weapons once they finish the DLC.
In terms of availability, players who own the base game Digital Upgrade, Premium Edition, or Collector’s Bundle can access Revelations at no extra cost from 8 July. Those with only the base game can buy Revelations for $31.95 AUD, or upgrade to the Premium Edition for $59.95 AUD.
