HIDIVE has announced that Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling (転生したらドラゴンの卵だった 〜最強以外目指さねぇ〜) will be joining its Winter 2026 anime season, adding another isekai fantasy to its growing catalogue. Based on the light novel series by Nekoko, the upcoming adaptation will stream exclusively on HIDIVE across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
The story follows a man who awakens in another world only to discover he has been reborn as a dragon egg. Without the usual powers or advantages of a typical isekai protagonist, he must grow from a fragile hatchling into a formidable dragon capable of surviving the perilous forest that surrounds him.
Originally published online by Nekoko in 2015, the Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling light novel series features illustrations by Naji Yanagida and currently spans 16 volumes. English translations are available through Seven Seas Entertainment. The anime adaptation is being produced by Studio FelixFilm, with direction by Yuta Takamura and assistant Nobuyoshi Arai. Series composition is handled by Tatsuhiko Urahata.
Before its January debut, the platform will host the North American premiere of Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling at Anime Frontier 2025, offering fans an early look at the fantasy adventure.
John Ledford, President of HIDIVE, expressed enthusiasm for the new addition to their line-up:
We’re excited to add the new isekai fantasy series Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling to HIDIVE’s Winter 2026 line-up. We can’t wait for fans to watch the anime adaptation and experience this long running light novel series in a whole new way. Whether you are new to isekai and fantasy or a long time fan of these genres, you will not want to miss Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling and its premiere in January.
