Skeleton Crew and Devolver Digital have confirmed that martial arts roguelite Forestrike will release on 17 November 2025 for PC and Nintendo Switch. To accompany the date, a new gameplay trailer showcases a broader slice of the world, key combat systems, and the story threads that set Yu on a path to confront a powerful Admiral. You can check this out to the left!
An updated Steam Next Fest demo is available now, adding a third combat school and fresh locations to sample ahead of launch. The expanded slice seeks to highlight to future players how Forestrike blends measured duels with build variety, encouraging players to experiment with different philosophies before committing to a run.
Forestrike follows Yu, a monastic warrior attempting to free the Emperor from captivity. The core gameplay mechanic is known as Foresight, a technique that lets players preview and replay encounters until they find a sequence that works. Enemies react consistently to player inputs, turning each fight into a strategic puzzle where timing and precision are rewarded. Once a final version of a battle is locked in, victory advances the journey while failure sends you back to regroup.
Across repeated runs, players uncover fragments of a wider narrative and meet five great masters who represent distinct martial arts schools. Techniques can be mixed and matched to shape a personal style. Between encounters, inns provide moments to recover, travelers can be rescued for rare rewards, and new gear can be acquired to nudge a build in a different direction. The structure aims to keep discovery at the center of progression. Route choices, style combinations, and measured practice inside previewed encounters are designed to feed into the final committed attempt, making each cleared fight feel earned.
