The webtoon The Player Who Can’t Level Up is set to expand into the gaming world, with a full-scale action title in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Scheduled for release in 2026, the game is being developed by Tripearl Games as a fast-paced action roguelite that introduces an all-new storyline crafted in collaboration with the creators of the original web novel and webtoon.
The adaptation centers on Kim Kigyu, the titular player who, despite being unable to level up, must face increasingly powerful enemies. Instead of relying on traditional experience points or stat progression, players will evolve by mastering combat techniques, discovering secrets hidden behind a mysterious gate, and using roguelite mechanics to grow stronger with every battle.
The game will feature two primary progression systems: Ego Shards, which function as perks, and Blessings, randomised enhancements that allow for unique build combinations on each run. This approach shifts the focus from grinding to strategic adaptability, encouraging players to experiment with different styles and synergies.
Key features shared for the game include responsive sword-based combat with multiple attack styles, perk-based upgrades, full 3D visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, and high replayability through randomised runs. With its mix of action, lore expansion, and player-driven growth, The Player Who Can’t Level Up is aiming to offer a fresh twist on the action RPG formula when it launches in 2026.
