Rocket Panda Games has announced a new release date for Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate. Originally scheduled for 13 February 2025, the side-scrolling beat-’em-up will now launch on 17 April 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) is a reimagined version of the original game released over a decade ago. This updated edition features gameplay rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, enhancing performance and introducing smoother mechanics. The game also includes local and online co-op modes, cross-platform multiplayer for up to eight players, and a new “Play as the Enemy” feature, allowing players to control adversaries from the game universe in Arcade Mode.
Promoted features of PBBGU include:
Revamped Gameplay: Completely rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, featuring smoother mechanics and flashier special attacks.
Online Co-op and Versus Modes: Play with friends locally or compete against up to eight players worldwide with cross-platform support.
Play as the Enemy: Take control of iconic adversaries, each with unique combat styles and abilities, in Arcade Mode.
Remastered Soundtrack: Players can choose between a newly composed soundtrack by all-girl J-rock band The Phantom Breakers or the original tracks from Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds and PB:BG Overdrive.
