Nippon Ichi Software America’s (NIS America) anime division has certainly been active this month – not only releasing the Premium Edition of Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl but also Standard Edition releases of Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up, bunny drop and Arakawa under the Bridge. A fourth title is set to join their set of standard edition releases on the 5th March 2013 – House of Five Leaves.
The standard edition release is set to come with the 12 episode series over two DVD’s, their obligatory “Standard Edition” story guide leaflet which provides a bit of information on each episode and the bonus on-disc content from the Premium Edition – or essentially almost everything other than the hardcover colour artbook and hardcover artbox.
Ronin Akitsu Masanosuke is a skilled swordsman, but his personality often causes him to be let go from his day job as a bodyguard. One day, he encounters Yaichi, the leader of a group called the “Five Leaves” and takes a job from him. Though he is worried about the intentions of the group, he feels there is something more to them and reluctantly agrees to work with them.
While I have not reviewed the NIS America release of this series, I have reviewed the 2011 DVD release by Australian anime publisher Siren Visual which I encourage you to check out HERE.
