Team17 Digital and the development team Sassy Chap Games are inviting you to quite literally date everything in your (virtual) home this October, announcing their official release date for sandbox dating simulator Date Everything! The unique game (seriously, watch the below trailer) is set to launch on the PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S starting 24 October 2024.
So what is Date Everything!? This game seeks to provide players with a unique dating experience, allowing them to explore a world where even the most mundane objects can become potential romantic partners. By using “Dateviator” glasses, players can engage in conversations with humanoid representations of a variety of objects, ranging from laundry baskets to the air itself, uncovering distinctive personalities and different outcomes.
Date Everything! boasts 100 fully voiced datable characters featuring the voices of Felicia Day (Supernatural, The Magicians), Johnny Yong Bosch (Bleach, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers) Grey DeLisle (Scooby-Doo, The Last Airbender), and more. It also claims to offer branching dialogue with multiple endings for each character, four hours of music with each character having their own theme, 10,000+ hand-drawn images, a story with 1.2 million words and 70,000 voice lines.
While it is rare for a dating sim or visual novel to receive English voice acting, let alone full English voice acting for its hundred or so characters – but this may be because Sassy Chap Games, the developer, was founded in Ray Chase, Robbie Daymond, and Max Mittelman – professional voice actors who you’d have heard in many games.
