Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced a new expansion for The Talos Principle 2, titled Road to Elysium. Revealed during the Devolver Direct presentation this weekend, this three-part expansion will be available on 14 June 2024 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $19.99 AUD or local equivalent – and continue the existential puzzler with even more content.
Road to Elysium extends the storyline of The Talos Principle 2, offering players a deeper exploration of its post-human universe. The expansion reunites players with familiar characters and introduces new, thought-provoking stories, and seeks to challenge players with a blend of new and existing puzzle mechanics.
The expansion comprises three distinct chapters:
Orpheus Ascending
This chapter delves into the themes of love, death, and resurrection through the story of Hypatia and Sarabhai. Players return as 1K to enter Sarabhai’s mind and retrieve the shattered fragments of her personality. Set against an Ancient Egypt-inspired backdrop, players will solve intricate laser-based puzzles in innovative ways.
Isle of the Blessed
Set on a picturesque Caribbean island, this chapter features Yaqut, Miranda, Cornelius, and Athena. Players will tackle a variety of new puzzles using familiar tools, culminating in the Hexahedron—a large continuous puzzle cluster located in a mysterious tower.
Into the Abyss
Returning to one of the most dramatic moments from The Talos Principle 2, this chapter explores Byron’s fate when trapped in the Megastructure. Set on floating islands, players will navigate a surreal, glitchy dream world filled with challenging puzzles designed to test even veteran players.
