World of Warcraft: Forever has launched. The new version of World of Warcraft from Blizzard Entertainment aims to offer players a reimagined take on the original Azeroth, aimed at both newcomers and returning players, and is designed to keep growing over the coming years.
The game is set after the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, taking players across the original continents on a journey to level 60. The Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor have been expanded with new and reworked zones and more than 1,000 new quests across the levelling journey, with new destinations including Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle.
Zephras Isle is also the starting point for the game’s new playable race, the Skyborne, also known as the shen’dorei, or hidden people. Their starting experience covers levels 1 to 12 and combines the classic Warcraft look with elemental architecture and a story focused on wind and ancestry. When creating a Skyborne character, players can choose whether they join the Horde or the Alliance.
For group content, World of Warcraft: Forever adds nine new five-player dungeons covering levels 13 through 60, along with two new raids, all rooted in the original World of Warcraft and set across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Other additions include Campfires, class updates and the Legacy System.
