Eastasiasoft Limited has announced that the anime-style visual novel Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan will release in 2025 across all major platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Microsoft Store for Windows. The game is developed by Toii Games in collaboration with Sanlih E-Television Co., Ltd, and serves as an officially licensed reimagining of the classic Taiwanese drama The Bonfire of Taiwan.
The original series focused on the rivalry between two families, exploring themes such as revenge, love, betrayal, and social class dynamics. Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan presents a reimagined version of this story in an interactive format, combining narrative elements of soap opera drama with anime-style visuals and gameplay based on character interactions and player decisions.
The game allows players to explore the story from multiple character perspectives, engage in both verbal and strategic confrontations, and influence outcomes through decision-making. Affection levels and choices determine whether players will experience classic endings from the original series or branch into entirely new, game-exclusive conclusions. Notably, players can unlock iconic live-action scenes from the television series as they progress through the game’s chapters.
Other features include romance systems with options for dates and relationship-building, item-based confrontations using evidence such as DNA results or legal documents, and character-specific support abilities to sway dramatic encounters. The game also allows revisiting cleared chapters for new outcomes, encouraging multiple playthroughs.
Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan will be fully localised with text support in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. More details are to follow in the near future.
