Independent developer and publisher Studio Terranova has released Bubble Butt, a comedic narrative game centered on self-acceptance and body positivity, for PC and Mac via itch.io. The title, originally created during the 2025 Global Game Jam, is also slated for a Steam release later in the year.
Bubble Butt follows a protagonist trapped in the monotony of daily life – doom-scrolling the internet and idolising MOBA influencer Bubleigh_Boughtie – until a sudden wish transforms their reality. Gifted with an unusually large posterior and an even larger mission, the character must navigate an increasingly absurd world in a short-form adventure where saving the planet goes hand-in-hand with learning to love oneself.
Presented with a series of branching choices, players must make decisions that affect both the story’s outcome and the character’s emotional journey. The game blends light strategy with humour-driven writing, stylised illustrations, and a cast of eccentric characters. Its dialogue leans heavily into puns and irreverent tone, while encouraging players to reflect on themes of self-image and acceptance.
CJ, lead programmer at Studio Terranova, shared their perspective on the project:
Bubble Butt is a game about giant butts saving the world, what’s not to love? We had a tremendous amount of fun making this game, and we hope that everyone who plays this game walks away with a new sense of love for themselves and some laughs along the way.
