Remedy Entertainment has a new record holder. CONTROL Resonant has passed one million copies sold worldwide, making it the fastest-selling game the studio has released in its 31-year history – an impressive feat considering this also includes monoliths like Alan Wake II. The milestone comes less than a month after the game launched on 24 September 2026, and it carries extra weight for the studio given how the game was brought to market. CONTROL Resonant is Remedy’s first self-published release on this scale, meaning the studio handled the launch itself rather than relying on an outside publisher.
Remedy Entertainment CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon reflected on the sales figure and the competitive release period the game launched into:
One million copies is a very strong start. CONTROL Resonant is Remedy’s first self-published release of this scale, launched into one of the most competitive windows in years alongside the industry’s biggest names. The game is unmistakably Remedy, with the bold ideas and distinctive style our players have come to expect from us. A huge thank you goes to our players and to the team, who have made CONTROL Resonant the incredible game that it is
CONTROL Resonant expands on the world established in CONTROL, this time moving the action to Manhattan. The city has been warped by a paranatural crisis, and players step into the role of Dylan Faden, who is searching for his missing sister, Jesse Faden. To face the threats waiting for him, Dylan relies on his supernatural abilities and the Aberrant, a melee weapon that can change its shape.
