While other media formats including anime and video games have long been known to receive a dual-audio (English/Japanese) release, the same is not true for the growing visual novel market. A select few western developed visual novels such as The Reject Demon: Toko Chapter 0 – Prelude have or are receiving English dubs, however in the case of those originally developed in Japan, this is much more unusual.
As a first for a publisher who have worked on major titles such as Steins;Gate, Jast USA have this evening confirmed that an English dub option will be available in Sonicomi when it launches later this year. Following her work on Super Sonico the Animation last year, Jessica Nigri will once again be contributing her voice to the role of Sonico. Of course, for those who prefer the original Japanese dub, the original voice work will not be omitted.
Jessica Nigiri is best known for her modelling and cosplay work, however has also held a number of voice acting roles including Sonico in Super Sonico the Animation and Cinder Fall in RWBY.
