Ooyari Ashito’s Simulation Game ‘Machine Child’ Edges Towards September 2025 Release

After being in development for quite a number of years, Japanese artist Ooyari Ashito (大槍葦人) known for their involvement with the LittleWitch (リトルウィッチ) titles, including Girlish Grimoire Littlewitch Romanesque which was released internationally, has confirmed that their next simulation game Machine Child (マシンチャイルド) is aiming for release in September 2025. Granted that nothing is permanently set in stone however, and subject to deviate slightly.

As of April, development appears to be in its final stages, with most core components nearing completion. The current reported progress includes:

  • Graphics: 99%
  • Scenario: 92%
  • Music and Sound Effects: 98%
  • System: 96%
  • Difficulty Balancing: 80%
  • Translation: 33%

Details have yet to be verified for any English release, although back in 2017 when the game was first unveiled, Jast USA (Now JAST) announced plans to release the game simultaneously with Japan in English. Given the best part of a decade since the announcement, time will tell whether this still holds true. Here’s hoping though!
