Have you been waiting for more visual novels to appear on Steam? After first being posted on Steam Greenlight earlier this month, Sekai Project’s campaign for Nekopara Volume 1 has already cleared the community vote phase and will be released via the service at a later date. While a formal release date has yet to be confirmed, they have released a free demo which can be found/downloaded HERE.

What’s NEKOPARA? Why, it’s a cat paradise!

Kashou Minaduki, the son of a long line of Japanese confection makers moved out to open his own shop “La Soleil” as a patisserie.

But upon moving out, hidden amongst his things were two of the catgirls (“neko”), Chocola and Vanilla, that the family had been raising. When he tried to send them back, they begged and pleaded until he gave in and now they’ve opened La Soleil together.

With two nekos who really, REALLY love their master trying their very best and occasionally failing — a heartful comedy opens for business!

See the Sayori NEKO WORKs’ mascots Chocola and Vanilla like never before, moving, and in full voice on screen. And now with the E-mote System, the characters smoothly move on screen changing expression and poses in countless ways.

As with many visual novels developed in Japan, Nekopara Vol. 1 will have an 18+ eroge release. Developer Neko Works have confirmed via Twitter that this will not be a Japan-exclusive release, and are planning to offer a downloadable edition of this beginning December 30th. More details on this are set to be announced in the near future.

  1. Way to go Sam, glad to see this game getting more coverage. Now the tough choice will be deciding between that 18+ and all ages version =3
