A fungal infestation await players in Mycopunk when it launches on PC and PlayStation 5 on 20 October 2026. The release marks the end of the sci-fi co-op shooter’s Steam Early Access period, with PS5 players also able to access it through PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
Developed by Pigeons at Play and published by Devolver Digital, Mycopunk first entered Early Access in July last year. Following a series of updates, its version 1.0 release will introduce new guns, grenades, modes, maps, a playable character and hats. A fuller breakdown of the launch content is still to come.
Players form a clean-up crew sent to the surface of New Atlas, a moon being overrun by a mysterious fungal threat. Missions centre on squad-based combat, with teams combining upgraded abilities and customised weapons to tackle the infestation.
A grid-based upgrade system allows players to modify an arsenal of futuristic weapons and develop builds that complement their teammates’ equipment. Enemy encounters bring an additional complication: surviving foes can collect pieces blasted off other enemies, using them to grow larger and stronger. Between missions, the squad returns to the H.U.B., an orbital dropship containing toys, games and secrets to explore.
