Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled a new range of limited edition PlayStation 5 hardware inspired by Marvel’s Wolverine, including a Battle Yellow PS5 Digital Edition bundle, matching DualSense wireless controllers and console covers for PS5 and PS5 Pro.
The centrepiece of the range is the PS5 Digital Edition Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle. Priced at $999.95 AUD RRP, it includes a PS5 Digital Edition console, a matching DualSense wireless controller and a game code for Marvel’s Wolverine. Inspired by Wolverine’s Battle Reborn suit and claws from Insomniac Games’ upcoming title, the console features a yellow finish with claw marks cutting across its exterior. Portions of the design also expose imagery beneath the surface of the console, while the accompanying DualSense controller carries its own claw slash detailing.
The Battle Yellow DualSense wireless controller will also be sold separately for $134.95 AUD RRP.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has worked with Insomniac Games, Marvel Games and Scottish graphic artist Jock on the limited edition designs. Jock, who also contributed key artwork for Marvel’s Wolverine, said the project gave him an opportunity to bring his traditionally drawn artwork to PlayStation hardware.
I wanted to show Wolverine at his fiercest for Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 Console bundle and accessories. I still draw all my artwork traditionally, so the opportunity to marry cutting-edge hardware with the energy and looseness of hand-drawn ink is incredibly exciting. I’m stunned by how well the console and accessories captured the raw energy of the drawing, bringing Wolverine to life in a completely unique way.
Insomniac Games’ Marcus Smith also discussed why Jock’s artistic style was selected for the project, pointing to the energy and raw qualities of his illustrations.
His [Jock] illustrative works have the energy and dynamics needed to capture the kinetic and violent nature of our hero. One whose primary interaction with the world is with unbreakable Adamantium claws. Jock’s illustrations are grounded and raw and perfectly personify Wolverine.
Players who already own a slim model PS5 or a PS5 Pro will also be able to purchase Battle Yellow Limited Edition console covers through selected retailers. The PS5 covers are compatible with consoles both with and without disc drives, while separate covers will be available for PS5 Pro. A second design inspired by the adamantium bonded to Logan’s skeleton and claws has also been revealed for PS5 Pro. The Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition console covers retain the claw slash motif but replace the yellow colouring with a metallic finish. A matching Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller will also be available separately.
Pre-orders for the Marvel’s Wolverine limited edition range will open on 19 August 2026 at 10.00am local time. The products will then become available from 15 September 2026 in limited quantities through selected retailers.
Australian pricing for the range is $999.95 AUD RRP for the PS5 Digital Edition Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle, $134.95 for either the Battle Yellow or Adamantium DualSense wireless controller, and $119.95 each for the Battle Yellow PS5 console covers, Battle Yellow PS5 Pro console covers and Adamantium PS5 Pro console covers.
