Sword & Axe and indie.io have revealed Dark Deity 3, the concluding entry in the tactical RPG series. Announced during the IGN Live Indie Loop showcase, Dark Deity 3 returns players to Terrazael for a story centred on death cults, ancient secrets and a growing threat that could bring about the end of the world.
The Eternal Order once again stands at the centre of the conflict. As death cults spread across the land, players will lead two armies through parallel campaigns spanning both the living world and the afterlife. Dark Deity 3 follows Gwyn and Arthur Sildairan, heirs to the Eternal Order, as they take on separate roles in the fight against the approaching apocalypse. Gwyn leads a military force across Terrazael to confront the cults directly, while Arthur guides a group of scholars into the afterlife in search of answers about the gods.
The game seeks to build upon the strategy and customisation of earlier entries, boasting 28 playable units, 74 classes, more than 100 weapons and over 60 rings that can shape different character builds. The campaign will include around 35 story chapters, with morale, progression and army growth also playing a role in the wider conflict.
Dark Deity 3 will feature grid based tactical combat, built in randomisers for replayability, a fully voiced narrative and custom manga inspired story sequences. Players can wishlist Dark Deity 3 on Steam now, with more development updates and announcements planned as the final chapter of the trilogy continues to be revealed.
