Publisher Cozy Lives has announced that Dressmaker will launch for PC via Steam in September 2026. The release window was confirmed during the Wholesome Games Showcase, where a new trailer for the cosy crafting game was also shown.
Dressmaker aims to serve as a tactile tailoring simulation inspired by real dressmaking. Players choose fabrics, cut patterns, sew garments and decorate their creations by hand, with the option to satisfy customer requests or take a less helpful approach. The game began as an Itch.io prototype, and is now being expanded into a full-length Steam release.
In Dressmaker, players control each step of creating a dress. This includes selecting materials such as cotton, linen, wool, silk and velvet, arranging patterns, cutting fabric and guiding it through a sewing machine. Finished pieces can then be customised with buttons, bows and accessories. The game also features a town of customers and a calendar of special events. Players can create made to order designs for specific requests, or place their own dresses in the shop window and sell them directly from the rack.
A sketchbook system will allow players to design and colour outfits, add fabric samples and include appliqué. Dresses can also be previewed on a mannequin before being handed over to customers, helping players build both reputation and coin.
