HoYoverse has confirmed that the next major update for its title Honkai: Star Rail, titled “Unraveled for Daybreak,” is scheduled to launch on 25 March 2026. This Version 4.1 update continues the narrative arc on Planarcadia, focusing on a celebration known as the Star Rail FEST while introducing a new playable character and various gameplay activities.
The story moves forward following the Trailblazer’s recent activities in the Phantasmoon Games. To celebrate the travels of the Astral Express Crew, the CEO of Pearluxe Corp, Pearl, has organised the Star Rail FEST. This exposition features three distinct zones based on the crew’s past adventures: the Belobog Zone, Xianzhou Luofu Zone, and Penacony Zone. Visitors to the festival can view large-scale figures of Cocolia and the Destruction Engine, or experience recreations of past confrontations against Phantylia and The Great Septimus. The update also unlocks the Pearluxe Tower, the headquarters of Pearluxe Corp, which serves as a new exploration area containing interactive mechatron activities and a display of the Alloy King Pom-Pom model.
Ashveil will join the playable roster as a 5-star Lightning-type character following the Path of The Hunt. Within the narrative, the detective is tasked with investigating a murder in the Dovebrook District and uncovering a conspiracy hidden behind the festivities. In combat, Ashveil’s Technique can stun enemies in the overworld. During battle, he increases the critical damage of all allies and designates a single enemy as Bait. While a Bait target is active, the defence of all enemies is lowered. Ashveil can trigger follow-up attacks when teammates strike the Bait, and he accumulates stacks of Gluttony to further enhance his offensive capabilities. Additionally, attacking the Bait target can recover Skill Points for the team.
The update introduces a new strategic activity called the Wispae War Saga at Graphia Academy. Players can command wispae soldiers in tactical matches, using spell cards and capsules to progress through challenges and unlock new companions. Additionally, the Divergent Universe system will transition into the Arcadian Chronicles phase. This includes the introduction of Waypoint Pass cards for regional exploration and a new upgrade system called A Mask of Elation.
Players who log in after the update on 25 March 2026 will be eligible to receive 10 free Warps. The version also includes the return of Planar Fissure and Garden of Plenty events, which offer double rewards for those seeking Planar Ornaments and upgrade materials.
