During the latest State of Play showcase in Japan, SEGA shared a new trailer outlining the upcoming Season Pass content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, detailing a series of guest characters and themed additions arriving over the coming months. The line up includes the already known SpongeBob SquarePants crossover, in addition to newly announced additions from NiGHTS, Super Monkey Ball, and the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW comic series.
Kicking things off next week, players will be able to race through a Bikini Bottom inspired course as SpongeBob and Patrick. The SpongeBob. Launching on 20 November, the pack will include:
- SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star as playable characters
- Patty Wagon vehicle
- Bikini Bottom themed course
- New music tracks based on SpongeBob SquarePants
- Six different emotes for each character
Further Season Pass drops are scheduled into early 2026. In December 2025, NiGHTS joins the roster as a playable character, accompanied by the Dream Sleeper vehicle. January 2026 will see AiAi from Super Monkey Ball arrive with the Banana Cruiser, while February 2026 introduces Tangle and Whisper from the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW comic series as additional racers.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
