Ubisoft has shared a new gameplay walkthrough for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes ahead of the expansion’s launch on 19 December for across all supported platforms and distribution services. Developed by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, the expansion returns players to a war-torn section of the Western Frontier, revisiting the Kinglor Forest and adding a new sub region while continuing the Avatar universe in parallel with the theatrical release of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
From the Ashes follows So’lek, a battle hardened Na’vi warrior fighting to save those he cares about after the RDA and the ruthless Ash clan occupy the Arahane Hometree and lay waste to the once vibrant Kinglor Forest. The walkthrough shows So’lek infiltrating the Hometree using only his bow and knife, highlighting brutal stealth takedowns, combat finishers and the use of Warrior Senses to heighten lethality.
It also introduces the Ash clan as a new Na’vi enemy faction through the Mangkwan warband led by Wukula, forcing So’lek to confront the idea of battling and even killing other Na’vi as he pushes back against the invaders.
Combat in this version of the Western Frontier ramps up through upgraded RDA forces, including advanced AMP suits, Skel suits and hellhounds, while So’lek calls on his bond with his Ikran, Iley, for aerial support and repositioning. Progression is tied to Dog Tags earned from defeating enemies and completing objectives, which act as experience to unlock new combat and stealth focused skills in a streamlined system.
