Indie narrative label Fellow Traveller and Saltstone Studio have announced The Hearth & Harbour for PC. Set against the backdrop of a looming war, the game blends story driven decision making with restaurant management as players work to restore a run down eatery called The Silver Spoon.
Taking place in the same universe and timeframe as their previous work, The Pale Beyond, the adventure follows your arrival in the harbour city of Lewthport after leaving your home country behind. The Silver Spoon serves as both a livelihood and a social hub for locals, and with a sizeable loan taken to overhaul the venue, reopening successfully becomes essential.
Progress is shaped by how you integrate into the community. Menu options depend on the relationships you build with townspeople, and the dishes you serve influence who visits, which characters you meet, and the story arcs that open up. Choices extend to defining the restaurant’s identity, from a lively bistro to a humble greasy diner, while sourcing produce at the market, hiring staff, and tailoring the décor.
Service is handled through turn based tactical sequences that ask you to balance guest satisfaction, staff needs, and finances. Each decision can ripple through Lewthport, drawing you deeper into the lives of its residents.
