Six years after releasing via Steam Early Access, Vermillion Digital’s mecha action RPG M.A.S.S. Builder is preparing to officially launch its full version. Publisher Sekai Project has confirmed that the game will officially launch worldwide tomorrow, coinciding with the sixth anniversary of its original Early Access debut.
M.A.S.S. Builder places players in the role of a private military commander piloting a customizable M.A.S.S. (Mechanical Assault Skeleton Suit) to defend Earth’s remnants against the Quarks. The 1.0.0 update is set to mark a significant milestone for the title, introducing new features, story content, and refinements aimed at polishing the experience for full release.
One of the headline additions is the long-awaited Weapon Attachment System. First unveiled in August, this update offers more cosmetic options for outfitting a M.A.S.S. unit’s arsenal. Players can now visually attach melee weapons, shields, shooters, and launchers to specific points on their mech, with support for new slot options, rotation ranges between -180° and 180°, and scale adjustments from 20 to 180. Decorative settings also allow unequipped weapons to remain visible on a unit for added flair.
The update also expands the story campaign, introducing new missions designed to bring the game’s conflict against the alien invaders known as Quarks to a conclusion. One of the new stages will see players and allied World Defence Force units fighting against overwhelming swarms of Quarks, giving players a taste of large-scale coordinated battles.
According to Vermillion Digital, the final release also includes refinements and fixes originally planned for version 0.13.0, ensuring smoother gameplay and more responsive combat. Boss encounters have been adjusted to provide more openings during melee exchanges, with improved hit detection that follows enemy appendages rather than relying on a generic hitbox.
M.A.S.S. Builder will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Greenman Gaming for $24.99 USD when the full release goes live on 14 September 2025.
