During the latest Nintendo Switch 2 global showcase, Square Enix unveiled a series of updates and new trailers for some of its upcoming multiplatform RPG titles, confirming releases on the Nintendo Switch 2 as well. More information on these content releases are below:
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Square Enix has launched a Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, the full 3D remake of the 1993 RPG that made its debut last year on other platforms.
The upgraded release features improved visuals, faster loading times, and an overall smoother gameplay experience, giving players the chance to build and defend an empire across generations as they challenge the formidable Seven Heroes. Strategic, turn-based battles are enhanced by a snappier pace, and players’ decisions shape the fate of the imperial throne thanks to the Free-Form Scenario system.
Existing owners of the Nintendo Switch version can purchase an Upgrade Pack to access the enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 edition. The game also supports cross-save with a free demo that allows players to transfer their progress.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is available now for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles
Square Enix also provided a fresh look at FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles with a new story trailer, highlighting a narrative of ambition, betrayal, and shifting alliances in the medieval world of Ivalice. The trailer gives fans a preview of two childhood friends divided by a looming war, and provided a glimpse at the expanded dialogue system aimed at deepening player immersion.
FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles launches 30 September 2025, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Steam Deck.
DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake
A new trailer for DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake was also revealed, including details that the Princess of Cannock will become a playable character in DRAGON QUEST II for the first time.
DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake compiles two foundational titles in the franchise, set after the events of DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake. This updated package offers modern HD-2D visuals, a refined battle system, additional story content, and several quality-of-life improvements. Players can look forward to new gameplay and narrative features, ensuring a fresh experience for both long-time fans and newcomers.
