Hide the Corpse, the (just a little) off-beat sandbox about concealing an inconvenient cadaver before the police show up, will make its PlayStation VR2 debut on 18 August 2025. The release date was confirmed during the latest Upload VR Showcase. The title is already available on Meta Quest for $14.99 USD, with a SteamVR edition also to releasee sometime in the future.
Developed by Realcast and published by HyperVR Games, Hide the Corpse challenges players to drag the unfortunately named Gus through a series of themed rooms and stash him somewhere the authorities will not notice. Each round lasts a brisk four minutes, forcing quick thinking as players erase fingerprints, destroy incriminating objects, and rearrange physics-driven scenery to avoid arrest.
The launch version for PlayStation VR2 includes every environment introduced so far, ranging from retro diners and cluttered apartments to zero-gravity spaceships and wrecked galleons resting on the ocean floor. Successful clean-ups award points that can be spent on unlockable “corpse costumes,” letting Gus blend in with disco threads, superhero garb, zombie makeup, and other tongue-in-cheek disguises.
Optional gameplay modifiers promise additional chaos. “Gas Crisis,” for example, turns Gus’ flatulence into a makeshift propulsion system, sending his body drifting unpredictably around each stage.
