Eastasiasoft and HitP Studio have confirmed that Schildmaid MX will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in 2025. The side-scrolling shoot ’em up first appeared during Tokyo Game Show 2024, and now fans on every major console will be able to experience its frantic action. Nintendo Switch players can also look forward to a limited physical edition, with pre-orders opening later this week.
At the heart of Schildmaid MX seeks to offer a fresh take on bullet hell gameplay. Rather than dodging every shot, pilots are encouraged to intercept enemy fire with specialized shield technology. Absorbing projectiles charges up powerful weapons that can then be unleashed against oncoming fleets. That balance of defense and offense requires split-second decisions as you juggle shields, weapon energy and survival.
Originally developed by HitP Studio in close collaboration with Eastasiasoft Limited, Schildmaid MX supports ten languages from English and Japanese to French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese and Korean.
Only 1 000 Limited Editions for Nintendo Switch will be released through online retailer Playasia, starting Thursday, 3 July 2025 at 11:00 pm Hong Kong time (11:00 am ET / 8:00 am PT / 4:00 pm UK). Each collector’s box includes:
- Game card
- Original soundtrack CD
- Joy-Con sticker set
- Numbered certificate
- Standard physical copies will also be available, alongside digital versions on all platforms.
