Players of Idea Factory International’s sci-fi roguelite shooter Scar-Lead Salvation can now access a new patch, with Version 1.02 rolling out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Steam. The update introduces a range of gameplay enhancements aimed at refining the challenge and progression systems.
The headline feature of the update is the addition of a Retry Portal to the base camp. This new mechanic allows players to return directly to the floor on which they were last defeated, offering a quicker path back into the action without restarting from the beginning.
Other adjustments focus on weapon handling and enemy balance. With Patch 1.02, a player’s secondary weapon is now retained upon death and promoted to become their new primary weapon. This change is accompanied by a reduction in the cost of upgrading weapons using Elm Chips, making progression more accessible. However, the update also ramps up the difficulty. Both enemy and boss characters now have increased health and deal more damage.
Scar-Lead Salvation is currently available both physically and digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam. A release on Xbox Series X|S, in addition to a digital launch via the Microsoft Store, is scheduled for 2 September 2025.
