Fallout Shelter has reached a significant milestone, with Bethesda Softworks celebrating ten years since its initial release on 14 June 2015. The mobile simulation game, which was originally unveiled as a surprise announcement during E3 2015, has since expanded to a wide range of platforms, including Android, consoles, and Steam. Over the past decade, the title has achieved more than 230 million installs worldwide – no small feat.
Since launch, Fallout Shelter has offered players the opportunity to oversee their own Vault, guiding Dwellers through the challenges of the post-apocalyptic Wasteland. Players have managed resources, defended against threats, and completed quests, all while contributing to the ongoing evolution of the game. In April 2024, a major update introduced new content inspired by the Fallout television series, including characters such as Lucy and The Ghoul, an expanded questline, and additional weapons and outfits drawn from the show.
To commemorate the game’s 10th anniversary, Bethesda is hosting a limited-time sale, offering up to 70 percent off lunchboxes (the in-game premium currency) in the in-game store on mobile devices and Steam until 17 June. In addition, players logging in on mobile platforms between 16 June and 21 June will receive exclusive daily rewards. These bonuses include lunchboxes, pet carriers, Nuka-Cola Quantum, and Mr. Handy companions, with specific items available on set days during the anniversary period.
